Do you know what a buckeye is?  It is a nut from the Buckeye tree [Aesculus glabra] and was named by Native Americans because it resembled the eye of a deer. Unfortunately it is not an edible nut but please Google a Buckeye recipe and you can enjoy a very delicious confection.
