The 71st OVI regiment was formed in late 1861 and was comprised of men mostly from small farming communities in West Central Ohio.  Their first battle experience was at Shiloh, TN and they were falsely accused of running from the enemy.  Research by author, Martin Stewart, follows this unit’s war-time experiences through the end of the war in 1865. This hardbound book measures about 6 by 9 inches and has 356 pages.
