Former Garst Museum director, Toni Seiler, compiled this book of schoolhouses in Darke County that one time numbered over 200.  Presently there are less than 30 of these buildings still standing.  This book is an excellent resource of early education in Darke County.  The book is organized by township and includes many photographs of the schools, students and events.  This 2003 edition published by the DCHS contains the location of each schoolhouse.  The book is soft-bound and measures 9x12 inches.
