One of the favorites at Garst Museum is The Life of Dave as Told by Himself. Dave’s life story first appeared in the Newark Sunday Call on June 24, 1923. Penned by Frank Butler after the death of this beloved companion to Frank and Annie, the booklet celebrates Dave’s amazing life and his own fame. The booklet has 35 pages and 15 photographs of Dave with his beloved owners. As a companion we also have a plush ‘Dave.’ Now we know that Dave was an English Setter but the closest we can come to a dog that looks like Dave is this little Springer Spaniel. For dog lovers just imagine a longer tail! The booklet is softbound and measures 5½” by 8½”. ‘Dave’ is 8”.
