Charles A. Eastman (Ohivesa), [1858-1939], was raised as a Santee Sioux in the 1860s and 1870s. He authored eleven books in which he tried to correct misapprehensions that the whites had about Native Americans. This volume includes biographical sketches of 15 great Native American leaders including Red Cloud, Sitting Bull, and Chief Joseph. This book was originally in 1918.
