Ft. Recovery Exhibits Updated

The Fort Recovery Historical Society has completed a major update of its exhibits. The exhibits focus on providing a more balance interpertation of the American military and Native Americans relative to two battles that occurred in 1891 and 1794.

Scholarship Applications Available

The Harry G Thomas Medical Scholarships, administered by the Darke Co Historical Society, can be applied for this summer for the 2010-2011 school year. Applications can be requested by emailing the Executive Director of Garst Museum at garstdirector@embarqmail.com, or by calling the director at 937-548-5250. Application deadline is Sept 15, 2010 and scholarships will be awarded in early October.

This partial of a photo, titled "Knabenshue in his air ship", was taken at the Darke County Fair in 1907. The image is from a series of early 1900's photos and posters located in the Lowell Thomas Wing.
