The Northwest Territory Era
The painting of Chief Tarhe, "The Crane", Grand Sacrem of the Wyandots is part of the collection of paintings, drawings and artifacts displayed on the first floor of the Garst House. Most of the first floor is devoted to the mid 1700's - early 1800's era, but it also includes items from mastodon bones to artifacts from Ohio's earliest inhabitants.

Lowell with Lawrence and Beyond
This circa 1918 photo of T.E.Lawrence is but one from the numerous photos of historic figures Lowell Thomas met, interviewed and befriended during his world wide travels and career. A collection of photos with Presidents, Hollywood icons and other influential individuals is divided between the American Wing and the Lowell Thomas Wing.

The Bull Moose visits Greenville
In May of 1912, while running for President on the Bull Moose ticket, ex-President Theodore Roosevelt made a campaign stop in Greenville. This cropped image of him, delivering his speech, is part of the collection of photos and drawings depicting early 1900's Greenville located in the Kay Brown Gallery.

Lewis meets Clark
William Clark was stationed at Greene Ville and took part in Anthony Wayne's Fallen Timbers campaign of 1794. In 1795 Meriwether Lewis joined the Second Sub-legion of the regular army. He was sent to Greene Ville in time to be present at the signing of the great treaty.
The Day Lincoln Died
The April 15, 1865 New York Herald's front page, center column headline, reported the news of President Lincoln's death. The entire front page is currently on display 2nd floor, Garst House.
